The UK’s competition watchdog, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), has given its approval to the partnership between Google and Anthropic.
The CMA determined that Google's investment in Anthropic did not result in Google acquiring material influence over the AI startup.
The CMA also stated that it will not pursue its investigation into Amazon's partnership with Anthropic, as it did not meet the criteria for creating a relevant merger situation.
Anthropic has recently released its latest AI model, which is more expensive but offers better performance.
