Google Chrome extensions hack may have started much earlier than expected
- A recent cyberattack involving malicious Google Chrome extensions may have been part of a wider campaign
- Around 400,000 users were infected with malware through the CyberHaven extensions
- The attack started as early as December 5, 2024, and possibly had planning as far back as March 2024
- The attackers aimed to collect Facebook data from victims through the infected extensions
