Google has introduced Android XR, a new operating system for virtual reality and augmented reality devices that connects them to the Gemini AI model.
Android XR will be used in both virtual reality and mixed reality headsets, as well as AR glasses equipped with microphones, speakers, and cameras.
The AR glasses powered by Android XR will work seamlessly with smartphones, enabling users to access apps, make appointments, take photos, and receive real-time translations.
Google has partnered with eyewear brands like Gentle Monster and Warby Parker to create stylish glasses with Android XR, and developers will have access to a test platform later this year.
