<ul><li>Google has announced the launch of its latest artificial intelligence (AI) technology, an AI chatbot called Bard.</li><li>Bard will be directly competing with ChatGPT, the AI service created by OpenAI.</li><li>The technology behind Bard is Google's large language model LaMDA, or Language Model for Dialogue Applications.</li><li>Google CEO Sundar Pichai wants Bard to be "bold and responsible" and aims to use AI to provide synthesized insights on complex questions in search.</li><li>Before its widespread availability to the public, Bard will be made available to a group of "trusted testers."</li></ul>
