Google has launched a free tier of its Gemini Code Assist, an AI programming assistant tool.
The free tier offers up to 6,000 requests per day or 180,000 per month, with a usage cap 90 times higher than GitHub Copilot, a competing coding assistant.
Gemini Code Assist works with popular code editors and supports all programming languages.
In addition to the free tier, Google has introduced Gemini Code Assist for GitHub, which automates parts of the code review workflow.
