Google Maps for iPhone now has a feature that scans screenshots in the Photos app to find locations and save them in a dedicated list.
This feature is available for iPhone users with the device language set to US English, with other languages and regions to follow.
The feature uses Google's Gemini AI to analyze images for location information, offering to save them with additional details if associated with Google Maps listings.
Users can manually mark screenshots for analysis or enable the 'Auto-scan' option to have the app review all photos in the library, saving screenshots with location details in the 'Screenshots' list under the 'You' tab.
