Google has introduced the “Delete for Everyone” feature in its Messages app for Android, allowing users to retract text and media in group chats.
The feature is currently in beta and enables users to remove messages from all participants' devices within a 15-minute window after sending.
To access the feature, users need to be on the Google Messages beta version 12.0 or above and enable RCS chat features in Settings.
All deletion processing is done on-device to ensure unsent content is not stored on Google's servers, but recipients on older app versions or non-RCS clients may still see the original message before deletion.
