Google has agreed to pay $28m (£22m) to settle a class action lawsuit claiming preferential treatment of white and Asian employees.The settlement has won preliminary approval from Judge Charles Adams of the Santa Clara county superior court in California.The lawsuit was led by Ana Cantu on behalf of minority employees at Google who alleged pay disparities and denied promotions.Net settlement proceeds after legal fees and penalties total $20.4m, with a final settlement approval hearing scheduled in September.
