Google unveiled SynthID Detector at Google I/O to identify content created using Google's AI tools like Gemini, Imagen, Lyria, and Veo.
SynthID Detector aims to provide transparency in generative media by embedding invisible digital watermarks into AI-generated content detectable by its technology.
Initially focusing on AI-generated imagery, SynthID now covers AI-generated text, audio, and video, scanning media for watermarks when uploaded to its portal.
Google is rolling out SynthID Detector to early testers and collaborating with partners like NVIDIA to expand the tool's usage beyond Google's own AI-generated content.
