Google will pay a $1.375 billion settlement to Texas for privacy violations related to data tracking and collection of private information.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton reached the settlement after filing lawsuits against Google in 2022 for tracking geolocation, incognito searches, and biometric data.
This settlement is the largest one achieved by a single state against Google for data-privacy violations, surpassing $93 million.
Google spokesperson José Castañeda mentioned that the settlement resolves old claims and Google will continue to enhance privacy controls in its services.
