<ul><li>Google has announced that it will stop making the Nest Protect smoke & CO alarms and the Nest x Yale smart lock.</li><li>Existing Nest Protect and Nest x Yale devices will continue to function and receive security updates until their expiration dates.</li><li>To replace the Nest Protect, Google is partnering with First Alert to develop a new smart smoke and carbon monoxide alarm that will integrate with existing Nest Protect devices.</li><li>Google is also partnering with Yale to develop the Yale Smart Lock with Matter, which will be compatible with the Google Home ecosystem and the Matter smart home protocol.</li></ul>
