Delhi-based Rocket Learning has launched an AI-powered tutor called 'Appu' to provide personalized and conversational learning experiences for children aged 3 to 6.
Appu, developed with support from Google.org, aims to reach 50 million families by 2030, starting with Hindi and expanding to 20 other languages.
Rocket Learning plans to adopt Appu in Anganwadi centers and government-run preschools to bridge the learning gaps in early childhood education.
The AI tutor, built with technical assistance from Google.org Fellows and a $1.5 million grant, focuses on pre-literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills to address the lack of access to quality preschool education in India.
