The Malaysian government has allocated RM463 million to improve public transport services.
The allocation follows the 2025 budget and is part of the country's preparation to assume its duties as the ASEAN chair in 2025.
The meeting discussed issues of road safety, traffic congestion, and initiatives to encourage the use of public transport in the Klang Valley and northern cities.
Initiatives include the expansion of special dedicated bus lanes, the introduction of Prasarana Malaysia's Demand Responsive Transit service, and the installation of speed-limiting devices on buses.
