Grayscale has obtained SEC approval to convert its Digital Large-Cap Fund to an exchange-traded fund (ETF) listed on NYSE Arca, comprising Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and Cardano.
The ETF, following regulatory approval, will track the CoinDesk Large-Cap Select Index with Bitcoin accounting for over 80% of holdings, Ethereum at around 11.3%, Solana 2.7%, XRP 4.8%, and Cardano 0.81%.
The SEC's approval indicates a growing institutional interest in regulated digital asset investments and a more favorable stance towards crypto-based funds, influenced by a court ruling that compelled the reconsideration of Grayscale's proposal.
The success of Grayscale's ETF conversion may lead to an uptick in other crypto ETF offerings, particularly for Bitcoin and Ethereum, with a potential streamlined approval process under consideration by the SEC for upcoming ETFs.
