Guatemala’s largest bank, Banco Industrial, has integrated SukuPay into its mobile app Zigi for real-time and cost-effective remittances from the U.S.
SukuPay allows Guatemalan users to receive U.S. remittances instantly using only their phone numbers, with transfers costing $0.99 and settling in under 20 seconds.
Guatemala receives over $21 billion annually in remittances, and SukuPay aims to modernize financial infrastructure by simplifying the remittance process without requiring users to deal with crypto complexities.
The partnership between SukuPay and Banco Industrial signifies the growing adoption of stablecoins for cross-border transactions, offering faster, cheaper, and more accessible payments while abstracting away blockchain technology for users.
