Wheel.me, a Norwegian start-up has successfully transformed any object into an autonomous mobile robot. The company's first product was a pop-up wheel that could be integrated into the legs of furniture.Wheel.me then shifted its focus onto the robotic platform which is currently being used by more than 30 major customers in the US and Europe. The main challenge was to create a seamless software/hardware solution that was both user-friendly and easily deployable. The startup's most successful robot, named Genius, is a set of four or eight robots (or robotic wheels) that replace a standard set of caster wheels.Genius is connected to a backend hosted on AWS cloud and is currently being used by the automotive manufacturing industry.Wheel.me is also using AI for data stack for object recognition, smarter navigation, path planning, and predictive maintenance.Wheel.me is expanding its team in the US and Europe, with plans to expand its operations in Asia. With its last funding round, wheel.me built an automated factory in Norway where robots can build robots.Wheel.me has paired up AI technologies with ingenuity and autonomy to bring autonomous robots to the automotive industry.
