Sergei Potapenko and Ivan Turõgin, founders of HashFlare, have pleaded guilty to operating a $577 million crypto Ponzi scheme.They sold contracts promising customers a share of crypto allegedly mined by the company, but HashFlare did not possess the necessary computing power.Potapenko and Turõgin have agreed to forfeit over $400 million in assets obtained through their fraudulent activities.The US Department of Justice plans to compensate the victims by using the forfeited assets.
