HBO's Harry Potter series has cast its three main characters: Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.
The executive producers expressed delight in finding the actors for Harry, Hermione, and Ron after an extensive search led by casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann.
The trio of actors joins a cast that includes Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, and Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch.
HBO announced that the Harry Potter reboot will be a faithful adaptation of J.K. Rowling's books, with each season introducing the story to new and existing audiences.
