The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave alert for several states, warning of a gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 2-4°C over northwest and central India in the next 6-7 days
IMD predicts heatwave-like conditions to prevail in Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab until April 9
The heatwave conditions are also expected in Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Rajasthan during this period
