Mac keyboard shortcuts are great to speed up work and get things done quickly, but you may not know a lot of them beyond the copy-paste functions.
Here’s a list of essential keyboard shortcuts to make you a Mac power user:
Universal shortcuts include Control-▲ and Control-▼ to open Mission Control and Exposé, respectively.
Option-Command-Escape is another handy universal shortcut to force-quit an unresponsive app.
In macOS Sequoia, you can tile windows on the screen using Function-Control-◀︎▶︎▲▼.
Use Control-Command-Space to bring up the emoji, special character, and symbol picker to spice up text - this will work in most text fields or forms.
To jump to important folders quickly, try using Shift-Command-D, Shift-Command-H and Shift-Command-A, among others.
Hold Shift-Option with volume keys, brightness keys, or keyboard backlight keys for quarter-step adjustments.
For a complete list of Mac keyboard shortcuts, refer to Apple’s support page.
Finally, if you click the File menu at the top of your screen, you can find the corresponding keyboard shortcut represented by the symbols and keys you need to press.
