A high school student from The Bishop's School in La Jolla, California, has won an award for her innovative drone designs.Angelina Kim, a 17-year-old student, developed a dual-drone system to scout for rip currents and rescue swimmers trapped in them.Her scout drone uses a system she developed to identify rip currents and the depth of the ocean, alerting lifeguards to take action.Angelina also designed a larger rescue drone that can drop flotation devices attached to ropes to tow victims to shore.
