A NSW Police Traffic and Highway Patrol operation conducted drug and alcohol testing resulting in 461 positive drug tests and 132 drink-driving offenses.
The operation also uncovered 1373 speed-related offenses, 286 mobile phone usage offenses, and 84 seatbelt or helmet-related offenses.
Multiple drivers attempted to evade the police, including high-speed pursuits, leading to arrests and charged offenses such as driving recklessly and possessing prohibited substances.
The Assistant Commissioner expressed concern over the increase in road fatalities and emphasized the importance of road safety and compliance with road rules.
