Holiday Jukebox Gets ESP32, Home Assistant Support

  • A Mr Christmas jukebox has been retrofitted with an ESP32 and Home Assistant support.
  • The device was initially torn down to make room for new hardware, including an ESP32, WS2812B addressable RGB LEDs, and a DFPlayer module for music playback.
  • The buttons on the jukebox were wired up to the ESP32, allowing for reconfiguration and control via software changes.
  • The completed jukebox can now be used to control devices via Home Assistant, demonstrated by controlling an ESP-enabled LEGO train set.
