Alphabet's Google has showcased an updated version of its core search product that embeds more artificial intelligence (AI) in its answers.
The updated version, called Search Generative Experience, will detect when generative AI can be used to answer a query and present the AI-generated response at the top of the search results page.
The update includes a "conversational mode" that remembers the user's prior questions, making it easier for them to ask follow-up queries.
In contrast Google's chatbot, Bard, has a persona that can hold human-like conversations and is intended for creative collaboration, while Google emphasizes traditional search for finding and seeking information.
