- To add a data disk to a virtual machine (VM) in Azure, follow the steps below:
- In the Azure portal, go to the Virtual machine pane and select Disks.
- Click on Create and attach a new disk and specify the number, type, size, and name of the disk.
- To initialize the new disk, log in to the VM and open the Disk Management console. Select the new disk and choose the initialize option.
