Installing a new graphics card is a vital process that can help improve the performance of your computer.
If you're removing an old graphics card before installing a new one, first uninstall the old graphics card drivers.
Before starting the installation process, disconnect all power cables and then take safety precautions when removing or installing any components.
Remove the screws holding the old graphics card to the PCI Express backplate before releasing the clip and lifting it out of the PCIe slot carefully.
Next, look at your new graphics card and remove an extra backplate or two if there isn't enough space in the PCIe backing plate.
To install the new graphics card, slot it into the PCIe slot, making sure that the PCIe clip is open, and use a screwdriver to screw it in place.
Connect the appropriate power cables in the corresponding slots at the end of your new GPU.
Before putting your whole PC together and plugging everything in, plug in the power cable, your keyboard and mouse, and a single monitor video cable to see if it works.
If you're not seeing any results or improvements, you can attempt to place the card into a different PCle slot.
After installation, install new drivers for your new graphics card, and reboot your computer.
