The Oakland Athletics will be moving to Las Vegas, in a new stadium that’s been dubbed ‘the spherical armadillo’.
Designed by Danish firm BIG Architects, the stadium will accommodate over 33,000 people and feature the largest cable-net glass wall in the world.
The stadium's shape is informed by baseball pennant flags and the tough armor of the armadillo, with panels that overlap to create a suitable environment for the desert of Las Vegas.
The environmentally friendly stadium is set to open for the 2028 MLB season.
