<ul><li>Hyderabad-based CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology has partnered with Tata Trust Foundation and the National Health Mission to screen the population of Jharkhand for Sickle Cell Anaemia.</li><li>The collaboration aims to raise awareness, enable early detection of the disease, and contribute towards the eventual elimination of Sickle Cell Anaemia in Jharkhand.</li><li>Sickle Cell Disease is a genetic blood disorder that causes anaemia, pain crises, and affects various organs.</li><li>The screening efforts will begin in the Kolhan region of Jharkhand, and CSIR-CCMB will provide expertise in counseling carriers and guiding couples towards prenatal diagnosis.</li></ul>
