Hyundai has announced its new Pleos software, which will form the basis of future infotainment interfaces in next-generation vehicles.
The Pleos software is based on the Android Automotive Operating System (AAOS) and will offer smartphone-like features on larger vehicle touchscreens, with apps such as Google Maps and Assistant.
Hyundai's shift towards software-defined vehicles will allow for over-the-air updates and advanced telematics software, including vehicle tracking.
The new interface, called Pleos Connect, is expected to be rolled out by the end of 2026, and Hyundai has launched the Pleos Playground program to encourage third-party app development.
