Hyundai Motor Group plans to increase production in the United States to mitigate the impact of President Donald Trump's tariffs.
Hyundai aims to boost production capacity at its factory in Georgia from 300,000 to 500,000 units per year and will now also produce hybrid vehicles in addition to electric vehicles.
The automaker also plans to utilize output from its plant in Alabama, which currently produces 356,100 units per year.
These plans were designed with Trump's upcoming tariffs in mind, as the US President is set to impose 25% auto duties starting from April 2, 2025.
