Hyundai’s $7.6 billion Georgia plant has avoided President Trump's 25% tariffs on imported vehicles and auto parts.
Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) in Georgia is planning to expand the factory, increasing production capacity from 300,000 to 500,000 vehicles annually.
The Georgia plant is exempted from the recently announced tariffs and is considered a clear demonstration that tariffs work.
Hyundai's Georgia plant aims to employ 8,500 workers, while battery partners are expected to add an additional 3,500 jobs.
