The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heatwave and heavy rainfall alerts for several states across India until April 23.
Scattered to widespread, moderate rainfall is expected in several states over the next seven days.
A low-pressure area in the west-central Bay of Bengal and upper cyclonic circulations over various regions will bring rainfall to different parts of the country.
Heatwave conditions are predicted in Rajasthan, south Haryana, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh.
