<ul data-eligibleForWebStory="true">India and China have agreed to expedite the resumption of direct air services between the two nations and prioritize people-centric engagements.The agreement was reached during a meeting between Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong.Both sides reviewed the developments in India-China bilateral relations and agreed to work on rebuilding ties.The foreign secretary called for the early finalization of a revised air services agreement and easing visa processes.There has been no direct air connectivity between India and China since early 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.Airlines operated flights to destinations like Shanghai, Guangzhou, New Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata before the pandemic.
