India is set to introduce its first indigenous semiconductor chip of 28-90 nm in 2025.
The chip will target a segment with 60% market volume and is aimed at automotive, telecom, power, and railway applications.
IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw emphasized the importance of both manufacturing and services for growth, highlighting the impact of AI on society and industry.
India is developing 25 chipsets with indigenous IP to combat cyberattacks, with 13 projects led by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing in progress.
