<ul><li>The Indian government has directed mobile phone makers to include FM Radio on their phones to help people during natural calamities and emergencies.</li><li>The IT Ministry has issued an advisory mandating all mobile phones to have a built-in radio receiver and enable it by default.</li><li>The Indian Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA) and the Manufacturers’ Association for Information Technology (MAIT) have been tasked with informing manufacturers to make these changes on priority.</li><li>The IT Ministry has noted that in the last 4 to 5 years, the FM Radio feature has gone out of fashion, leaving many people without free FM Radio service.</li></ul>
