Anand Prakash, an ethical hacker and CEO of cybersecurity firm Pingsafe, discovered a security gap in LinkedIn that could have allowed anyone to delete any posts on the platform.
The vulnerability was discovered in 2018 as part of LinkedIn's bug bounty program, which rewards individuals who find security flaws or vulnerabilities in the platform's internet-facing applications.
LinkedIn fixed the issue after it was discovered, but only recently gave permission for Prakash to disclose the bug. He received a $10,000 reward for his discovery.
Prakash has previously found and reported vulnerabilities on social media platforms such as Twitter and Tinder, as well as ride-sharing platform Uber.
