Indian-origin scientist develops heat-repelling, multicoloured and environmentally-friendly paint that is the world's lightest paint.
Professor Debashis Chanda of the University of Central Florida's NanoScience Technology Centre has used butterfly inspiration to create the first mass-produced, environmentally friendly, and multicoloured substitute.
The lightweight paint is so efficient that only three pounds of it can cover a Boeing 747, which typically requires over 1,000 pounds of conventional paint.
The product is still in the laboratory stage, and more work needs to be done before it can be mass-produced.
