India's major ports witnessed a 5% growth in cargo traffic in FY25, primarily led by Deendayal Port in Kandla and Paradip.
Deendayal Port reported a 13% increase in traffic, reaching over 150 million tonnes (mt), while Paradip reported the highest cargo traffic at 150.4 mt.
The top cargo items handled by these ports include iron ore, fertilizers, coal, petroleum, oil, and lubricants.
India is also working on developing several port clusters as mega ports with enhanced capacity to meet future demands.
