India’s major ports see 5% cargo growth in FY25, led by Deendayal and Paradip

  • India's major ports witnessed a 5% growth in cargo traffic in FY25, primarily led by Deendayal Port in Kandla and Paradip.
  • Deendayal Port reported a 13% increase in traffic, reaching over 150 million tonnes (mt), while Paradip reported the highest cargo traffic at 150.4 mt.
  • The top cargo items handled by these ports include iron ore, fertilizers, coal, petroleum, oil, and lubricants.
  • India is also working on developing several port clusters as mega ports with enhanced capacity to meet future demands.
