An executive at the Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI) suggests that if the U.S. government were to announce a plan to acquire 1 million BTC, it could push the Bitcoin price to $1 million per coin.
The head of policy at BPI believes that such a large-scale purchase of Bitcoin by the U.S. would cause a global seismic shock and drive the price through the roof.
The discussion follows President Donald Trump's executive order establishing a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and the reintroduction of the BITCOIN Act, which would mandate the U.S. government to purchase 1 million BTC.
Industry experts argue that the U.S. acquiring more Bitcoin would solidify its position as a Bitcoin superpower and could be funded through various means such as tariff revenue and royalties from oil and gas leases.
