Input Output Global (IOG) will relinquish its seat on Cardano's Interim Constitutional Committee after community elections conclude this summer.
The company, which played a key role during the 2024 Chang hard-fork transition, will not stand for reelection but will continue to fulfill its mandate until its expiration.
The upcoming elections mark a shift in governance, with community candidates now competing on equal terms with founding entities to help govern the Cardano blockchain.
IOG's withdrawal from the committee does not impact its technical role in Cardano's open-source development, with the elections giving over 4 million ADA wallets a direct say in interpreting and enforcing the Cardano Constitution.
