Intel has discontinued its Deep Link technology, which aimed to enhance collaboration between Intel CPUs and GPUs, without an official announcement.
Launched in 2020, Deep Link included features like Dynamic Power Share, Hyper Encode, and Stream Assist to improve performance and efficiency in systems pairing specific processors with Intel Arc GPUs.
Users faced difficulties in getting Deep Link features to work reliably, leading to its discontinuation. Even earlier Alchemist GPU users encountered similar issues.
Intel confirmed that existing systems can still benefit from Deep Link but will not receive further updates or bug fixes. The discontinuation hints at Intel narrowing its focus as it prepares for its next-generation Celestial GPUs.
