Intel decided not to buy Nvidia in “fateful moment” says report
- Former Intel CEO Paul Otellini proposed Intel buying Nvidia, but the board rejected the idea.
- At the time, Nvidia was primarily a gaming GPU maker, and acquiring them could have changed the PC landscape.
- Intel could have integrated Nvidia GeForce GPUs into their CPU designs.
- The proposed price for Nvidia was $20 billion, significantly higher than the price AMD paid for ATi.
