<ul data-eligibleForWebStory="true">Apple introduced a new 3D graphing feature for Math Notes in iOS 26 and iPadOS 26.Math Notes feature was added in iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 to solve math problems and equations in the Notes app or Calculator app.On the iPhone, Math Notes works with typed equations, while on the iPad, handwritten equations using the Apple Pencil are supported. In iOS 26 and iPadOS 26, Math Notes can now create 3D graphs for equations with three variables.Users can tap on a variable in the equation and select the Insert 3D graph option to visualize the graph. The 3D graphs can be enlarged, resized, and moved through tap and drag gestures. The feature is more suitable for the iPad due to its larger display area, offering better usability for graphing. The 3D graphing functionality can be beneficial for visualizing linear algebra and multivariable calculus concepts.Graphs generated can be copied and pasted into other applications for further use.iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 are currently in developer testing phase with a public beta expected in July and a full release in September.
