Amazon's Prime Air drones have been approved by the FAA to deliver products like iPhones with lithium ion batteries in eligible areas in Arizona and Texas.
Customers can now receive deliveries within 60 minutes with a streamlined process that provides a designated delivery spot and eliminates the need for QR codes on the ground.
Deliveries are made by Amazon's new MK30 drones, capable of delivering packages up to 5 pounds and flying farther distances, even in light rain.
Drone deliveries are currently available in College Station, Texas, and the West Valley part of Phoenix, Arizona, dependent on favorable weather conditions.
