An IPL-style cricket tournament named 'Champions Cricket League' was organized for inmates at Mathura district jail in Uttar Pradesh with eight teams comprising 130 inmates.
The teams were named after IPL franchises like Knight Riders, Capitals, and Super Kings to promote a positive mindset among the inmates.
The final match was won by the Knight Riders team against the Capitals, marking the success of the initiative to engage inmates in sports activities.
The event aimed at rehabilitation through sports and was supported by the Mathura Refinery unit of Indian Oil Corporation through CSR funding for constructing arenas and providing cricket kits.
