Lee Thiam Wah, the founder of 99 Speed Mart, has become a billionaire following the company’s $531 million IPO in Kuala Lumpur, the largest in Malaysia in seven years.
Lee’s journey began with selling snacks from a roadside stall, and he has since grown his business into a retail empire with over 2,600 convenience stores across Malaysia.
At the IPO price of 1.65 ringgit per share, Lee's net worth is now approximately $3.3 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. The company’s stock has seen a significant rise post-IPO.
