ISRO successfully conducted hot tests of the Gaganyaan propulsion system, lasting 30 seconds and 100 seconds, to validate the test article configuration.
The propulsion system's overall performance during the tests was normal, showcasing simultaneous operation of Reaction Control System thrusters and Liquid Apogee Motor engines in different modes.
The Liquid Propulsion System Centre is leading the technology development for the Gaganyaan Service Module Propulsion System (SMPS), a critical system for orbital manoeuvring and abort scenarios.
ISRO plans to conduct a full duration hot test soon after gaining confidence from these successful hot tests, as part of the Gaganyaan programme to demonstrate India's capability to launch a crewed spacecraft into low Earth orbit.
