NASA astronaut Don Pettit has shared a stunning image of the Milky Way from the International Space Station (ISS). The photo also captures Earth and city lights below.
The image quickly gained popularity on social media, receiving positive comments and admiration.
Pettit used a homemade star tracker device to capture long-exposure, blur-free photographs of stars.
Since arriving at the ISS, Pettit has been sharing impressive images of Earth and space, including rivers in the Amazon Basin and the launch of Blue Origin's New Glenn rocket.
