A former Chipotle employee sued the restaurant chain for allegedly refusing to accommodate her need to pump breastmilk at work.
The employee claimed that the manager informed her that the restaurant could not provide her a space to pump or store her milk and that its scheduling system didn’t prioritize her over employees with better availability.
The employee filed a lawsuit seeking relief, including back pay, front pay, and other damages.
The PUMP Act, which grants nursing employees the right to reasonable break time and a private space for pumping breast milk, is at the center of the lawsuit.
