It's been a big year for factory sims, but instead of getting a degree in engineering, I've decided to go back to where it all started for me: modded Minecraft

  • A gamer delves back into modded Minecraft with friends, and recounts the tale of how they worked together on a server to create a chicken farm.
  • Things go awry, however, when the group starts bickering over whose factory design is best, and the protagonist ends up exiled to gather dirt.
  • He eventually gets bored of underground life and pitches a bargain to the surface-dwellers: in exchange for a mob farm, he’ll be allowed back on the main level.
  • The group agrees and he’s allowed back up, creating the mob farm and warning the others not to break any of the bottom blocks.
  • Disaster strikes when someone gets too excited and breaches the base of the mob farm, unleashing hordes of monsters into the chicken farm.
  • The group decides to give factory sim a rest for a while after the chaos, accepting that Minecraft may be more their speed.
